Saison Art will host the latest exhibition of artist Liao Yuan, titled "Cosmographies" on January 8, 2025. This exhibition represents an intensive extension of Liao Yuan's creative path, showcasing the varying degrees to which the universe projects itself onto humanity through the inversion of directions and the hybridization of images: in a corner of the forest where the sun is inaccessible, and only the night and starlight penetrate, for those irreconcilable hostilities that cannot be appeased. After that, the harmonious state of the universe is reduced to an abstract representation of differences.
Liao Yuan immerses himself in various systems for his creations, from depicting the genealogy of civilizations in the form of“River Map”, to pinpointing geographical differences through "Ennead", and now to the attache of space. Within similar techniques and logic, he discerns the operations of ancestors, regions, and celestial motion, which has become a grand and lengthy contemplation.
