你无法用浏览一幅画的方式去看水振基的作品：没有主题、没有主次的混杂堆叠；甚至感觉不到这是一幅绘画。
你无法界定这种变异的诱因（艺术家作品二阶段的风格的突变），但我们不妨从作品的表象上揣测：新风格更具备当下轻快的审美，更容易被年轻人接受。商业化是这种变异的催化剂，无关艺术的纯度。发酵之后，作品受到更多人的注视的诉求也会随之膨胀；作为评判艺术重要价值的标准之一的“多样性”也随之而来。作品陌生的、独特的可视化语言也会浮现而出，自然而然地与主流风格间隔而开。
然万事万物落入时间长河内的一瞬间都化作一颗渺小的沙粒。商业和艺术从未站在对立面，恰恰一同伫立时代当下。杜尚振聋发聩：我不认为我欠世人一幅画。而数年后，毕加索的立体主义，也始终没有捅破“非绘画”这层窗户纸。这一切皆是时间的局限性。存留于艺术史的篇章也不仅仅是艺术家撰写，或许它只是在这个虚拟的时间线上开出的一朵变异之花…
The paintings of Shui Zhenji cannot be viewed in a conventional way: there are no themes or hierarchies, only a chaotic mixture. You may not even recognise it as a painting.
You cannot define the cause of this variation (the sudden change in the artist's style in the second phase of his works), but we can speculate based on the appearance of the works: the new style has a light and fashionable aesthetic of the present, making it more acceptable to young people. Commercialization functions as the catalyst for this change, which has nothing to do with artistic purity. As it ferments, the wish for the work to be viewed by a larger audience grows, and "diversity," one of the criteria for determining the significance of art, follows suit. The work's strange and unique visual language will naturally set it apart from mainstream styles.
In the lengthy river of time, however, everything and everyone becomes sand grains in an instant. Business and art have never stood in opposition but have stood together in the present age. Duchamp woke the deaf: 'I do not believe that I owe the world a painting.' Picasso's cubism did not burst through the "non-painting" barrier until many years later. All of this is due to the passing of time. What remains in the chapters of art history is not solely written by artists; perhaps it is just a mutated flower blooming on this virtual timeline."
