站台中国当代艺术机构将于金秋在A展厅呈现毕建业个展《闪亮的獠牙》。展览将聚焦近3年来的最新创作。本次展览特邀汪民安撰写评论,展览将持续至12月3日。

“这或许是毕建业的世界观:世界就是一个力的世界,一个力和力的争斗的世界。这种争斗没有理由,没有特定背景,它贯穿着人类的全部历史。”

毕建业将作品置于对抗与冲突的叙事框架下,通过一系列诡异、超现实的图像,直视命运抗争的危机的现状。作品中出现的客观事物的真实图像,并无事物发生的逻辑秩序,在无序状态的背后,是现实的投影与对困境的想象,表现了艺术家对当下社会群体的映射的普遍心态。

毕建业画了很多模糊的生命体,它们既像动物,又像人,也像植物,或者说,它们同时是动物,是人,是植物,它们缠绕在一起,裹成一团,彼此生成,破除了界线。它们都以充满张力的形式扭结在一起,分享了力的对抗这一共同的自然法则。这种混杂的生命体不是根据它的形象得以表达的,它就是力的表达,正是力冲破了不同生命类型之间的界线。

展览主题源自同名新作《闪亮的獠牙》(2023),在巨大的画面之上,毕建业向我们展示了如贵族外出打猎般的现实场景。在精心编排的平静时刻之下,潜藏了时刻需要战斗的准备。画面中的人和猎犬都默然的伫立于雪地之上,彼此之间毫无交流,他们对发生在周围的事漠不关心,而远处的猎物正在对猎人发动袭击。“闪亮的獠牙”恰如其分地向我们展现了战斗前的临界状态,这种状态化成一种隐形的力量贯穿整场展览。

在毕建业所有的工作中,总能给人以一种破碎与不确定之感,既无贯穿的情节,也没有动人的故事。常常将主题或人物陷入了一种无法把握的宿命感中,并使用荒诞的叙事与对立的冲突放大一种体验,一种置身于荒凉世界之中挣扎的体验。


Platform China Contemporary Art Institute will present a solo exhibition by Bi Jianye titled “Shining Fangs" in the A Gallery this golden autumn. The exhibition will focus on Bi Jianye's latestcreations from the past three years. This exhibition features a special commentary by Wang Min'an and will run until December 3rd.

"This may be Bi Jianye's worldview: The world is a world of forces, a world of struggle between forces. This struggle has no reason, no specific background; it permeates all of human history."

Bi Jianye situates his works within a narrative framework of confrontation and conflict, addressing the current crisis of existential struggle through a series of eerie and surreal images. The true images of objective things in the artworks follow no logical order of events. Behind this disorder lies the projection of reality and imagination of adversity, representing the artist's universal perspective on contemporary societal groups.

Bi Jianye has depicted numerous ambiguous life forms that resemble animals, humans, and plants all at once. These entities are entangled, intertwined, and mutually generated, breaking down boundaries. They are all intertwined in forms filled with tension, sharing the common natural law of the struggle of forces. This hybrid of life forms is not expressed by their appearance; it is the expression of force, breaking down the boundaries between different types of life.

The exhibition's theme is derived from the eponymous new work "Shining Fangs" (2023), where Bi Jianye presents us with a scene reminiscent of aristocrats going hunting. Beneath the carefully orchestrated moments of tranquility, there is a constant readiness for battle. The people and hunting dogs in the painting stand silently on the snowy ground, indifferent to the events around them, while distant prey attacks the hunting dogs. " Shining Fangs" aptly showcases the threshold state before a battle, a concealed force that permeates the entire exhibition.

In all of Bi Jianye's work, a sense of fragmentation and uncertainty prevails. There is no coherent plot or compelling story, often immersing themes or characters in an ungraspable sense of fate. He uses absurd narratives and opposing conflicts to magnify an experience of struggling in a desolate world.
