前言 Introduction:

拾萬空间(石家庄)非常荣幸地带来季俊个展:尽头。本次展览是季俊近十年来关于“乌托邦”美学的一次集中呈现。

季俊的创作一直基于过去和当前空间的体验,他以近乎无功利的游戏态度,用数字创建了一个基于视网膜的三维世界,或者,一个含有游牧激情的乌托邦式社群场域。在这个过程中,艺术家的作品逐步呈现出一种独特的“画面”美学:理性的内涵和无法被消费性,并且以近乎完全规则的、平滑的和没有个性的形象特点,体现出基于编程数码的画面规范。正是这些难辨真假的图像幻像,展露出一种人类专有的美的理想,以及“掌控人心的道德思想的外在表达”。这里美的道德是互联网图像生产的开始,同时也指向了尽头——似曾相识,但又几乎完全陌生。

在这种层面上,我们似乎已经抵达了这个世界的尽头,但又似乎一直在抵达的路上,而季俊则通过他的作品在不断地提示着“此刻”关于“美的理想”的尽头悖论……


Hunsand Space (Shijiazhuang) is honored to present Ji Jun's solo exhibition titled "The End." This exhibition is a concentrated presentation of Ji Jun's explorations on the aesthetics of "utopia" over nearly a decade.

Ji Jun's creative practice has always been grounded in experiences of past and current spaces. With an almost non-utilitarian, playful attitude, he uses digital means to create a three-dimensional world based on the retina, or rather, a utopian community space imbued with nomadic passion. In this process, his works have gradually taken on a unique aesthetic of "image": rational content that resists consumption, and characteristics of nearly perfectly regular, smooth, and impersonal forms, embodying the visual norms of programmed digital imagery. It is precisely these indistinguishable illusions of images that reveal an ideal of beauty that is uniquely human, as well as "the external expression of moral thoughts that captivate the heart." Here, the morality of beauty is both the beginning and points to the end of internet image production - familiar yet almost entirely alien.

On this level, we seem to have reached the end of this world, but also seem to be perpetually arriving at it. And Ji Jun, through his works, continuously highlights the paradox of "the end" regarding ideals of beauty at this very moment...
