We are honored to announce that Gong Chen's solo exhibition will open on January 11th at the Beijing space of KeYi Gallery. This is Gong Chen's first solo exhibition at KeYi Gallery, and the exhibition will feature 30 works by the artist from the past two years under the theme of 'Plop~Plop~'. The exhibition will continue until February 18th.
The exhibition theme 'Plop~Plop~' comes from the excited and nervous heartbeat when encountering certain people or experiencing certain events, and it is also the sound of jumping into a river with others.
Artists' creations are influenced by personal identity, with the theme of intimate relationships among minority groups. In the intimate relationships he experiences, hears, and sees, they are often hazy and beautiful, but at the same time fragile and fragile. Love and loneliness always coexist, and it is precisely because of this loneliness that 'we' can love more sincerely.
Although artists paint the relationships between people, they rarely depict a specific image of a person. People in their paintings are always blurred, turned away, or backlit. They are simply placed as still objects in the painting, serving the atmosphere and emotions.
