As 2024 comes to a close, inner flow Gallery has undergone a renewal of its branding and exhibition space, launching a new group exhibition, take a picture. The exhibition consists of paintings and photography, aiming to capture these authentic emotions suspended within the flow of time.
Artists, as the smallest unit of theater, inevitably act as mirrors reflecting the realities and material experiences of the present. At the same time, they are keen observers of individual consciousness, capturing the unique tensions and transcendence within their perceptions. Every specific, contingent event within an individual’s life becomes an opportunity to challenge established consensus, making invisible subjects visible. Artists cultivate diverse awareness on their familiar grounds, creating multiple pathways to the inner world, ultimately forming a collectively shared life experience.
In the era of smartphones and social media, the act of photography has shifted from a ritualistic process to a rapid means of documenting everyday life. These snapshot-like scenes have become a new narrative framework reflecting contemporary life structures. The immediacy of snapshots represents a direct encounter between the physical body and reality, stirring instability within the seemingly stable. These unsettling moments hidden in the minutiae of daily life prompt us to set aside what we are doing, press the shutter, and pause our future-oriented thoughts. Instead, our attention is exposed to the here and now, manifesting overlooked everyday realities and the perceivable sensations of life.
The exhibition will run through 2025.
