1981年出生于山东烟台，中央美术学院设计学院设计教育学博士，2003年开始进行个人创作，2005 年迟鹏从中央美术学院毕业，同年于美国纽约举办了首次个人展览。自此，迟鹏开始受到国际关注。2004年至今，举办个人展览40余次，参加群展200余次，展览举办地遍及世界20个国家及地区，与此同时作品仅被世界各地多家美术馆收藏达百余件。2011年3月26日至9月25日荷兰格罗宁根美术馆为迟鹏举办了《我，我和我自己》大型个人展览，展览空间达一千两百平米，共展览作品48件，系该美术馆第一次为不满三十岁的艺术家举办个人展览。
2012 - 2018 年于中央美术学院任教摄影艺术；2018年开始儿童创新思维方法创造力方法以及基础课程的专项研究，同时进行电影及当代绘画的研究与创作；2019-2021年拍摄完成长篇电影处女作《离岸的海》。
Born in Yantai, Shandong Province, China in 1981, he entered the central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 2001 and started his creations in 2003. In 2004 when he was still in college, his works were displayed in a group exhibition，One to One: Visions---Recent Photographs from China, in the Chambers of Fine Art, New York, U.S.A., which was planned by Feng Boyi, a well-known Chinese curator of contemporary art. Since then, Chi Peng began to receive international attention.
In 2011, the 29-year-old Chi Peng presented a large solo exhibition, “Me, Myself, and I, Photoworks 2003-2010”, in Groninger Museum, Groningen, Netherlands. The exhibition took up 1,200 square meters with a total of 48 works. It was the second large-scale solo exhibition of a Chinese artist in this museum following Weiwei Ai and was the first for Chi Peng who was still under 30 years old but had made remarkable achievements in this field. So far, Chi Peng has more than 60 individual works, has presented over 40 solo shows and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions in 20 countries and regions in the world. Over 60 of his works have become collectibles of many art museums in the world. He is now a professional artist.
From 2012 to 2018, he was a teacher at the School of Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he began specialized research on children's innovative thinking methods, creativity methods and foundational courses. Meanwhile, he started researching and creating films and paintings; from 2019 to 2021, he completed his first feature film "As water in water ".
