1977年生于中国哈尔滨，2002年毕业于中央美术学院视觉传达系，目前生活并工作于北京。
她的创作涵盖装置、录像、雕塑和绘画，往往以具体经验来探讨时间、空间、意识和存在等抽象议题。
她参加过的重要展览包括：“Inside”（东京宫，巴黎，法国，2014）、“2014台北双年展”（台北市立美术馆，台北，台湾，2014）、第二届新美术馆三年展（纽约, 2012）、第十二届卡塞尔文献展（德国, 2007）。“麻将：乌利·希克收藏中国当代艺术展”（瑞士，2005）、“醍醐:段建宇胡晓媛”双个展（上海外滩美术馆，2013）、“ON | OFF ：中国年轻艺术家的观念与实践”（尤伦斯当代艺术中心，北京，2013）、“迷途-时间、空间、织物”（上海当代艺术博物馆，法国巴黎市立现代艺术博物馆，2014）、“我这一代：年轻中国艺术家”（坦帕艺术博物馆，圣彼得斯堡美术馆，佛罗里达，美国，2014）、“RIGHT IS WRONG”（瑞典，Bildmuseet美术馆，2014）、“聚焦北京：德赫斯·佐莫收藏展”(荷兰波伊曼斯·范伯宁恩美术馆，2014）等。
Born in Harbin, China in 1977, graduated from the Visual Communication Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2002, and currently lives and works in Beijing.
Her works include installation, video, sculpture and painting, often using concrete experience to explore abstract topics such as time, space, consciousness and existence.
Important shows she has taken part in include “The Great Acceleration: Taipei Biennial” (Taipei, 2014), “The Ungovernables: New Museum Triennial” (New York, 2012), and Documental12(Kassel, 2007). Her works have also been shown in numerous museums and art centers and exhibitions she has participated in including Palais de Tokyo (Paris, 2014), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (the Netherlands, 2014), Tampa Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg (Florida, U.S., 2014), Power Station of Art (Shanghai, 2014), Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris(Paris, 2014), Bildmuseet Umeå University (Sweden, 2014), Rockbund Art Museum (Shanghai, 2013), Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (Beijing, 2013),Kunstmuseum Basel (Switzerland, 2005), and so on.
