Born in 1980 in Managua, Nicaragua, he is a self-taught artist. He now lives and works in Miami, USA.
Drawing inspirations from found photographs, Farley Aguilar creates suggestive and often unsettling scenes with raw graphite lines and supersaturated impastos. A strong sense of justice underlies the canvases—by basing his compositions on historical facts, the artist bridges past, present, and future social-political realities, addressing structural, institutional, and systemic oppression and many other issues.
