1982年出生于重庆，2004年毕业于四川美术学院油画系取得学士学位。
郭鸿蔚闻名于他对于水彩以及油画颜料极具创造性的运用。把绘画当做是一种收集形式这一理念贯穿他最近的创作于展览中。其创作的对象囊括了从日常的生活日用品到花木，真菌或者矿石等等标本。而对于自然物的痴迷，使得他发展出各种各样的方法来对其主题进行研究，区分出不同昆虫种类之间的细微差异，记录了矿石中颜色的变化，研究了植物的治愈特性，并将这些记录在其丰富的水彩画上。
Born in Chongqing in 1982 and graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a bachelor's degree in oil painting in 2004.
Guo Hongwei is known for his creative use of watercolor and oil paints. The idea of painting as a form of collection runs through his recent works in the exhibition. The objects of his creations range from daily necessities to specimens of flowers, trees, fungi or minerals. His obsession with natural objects has led him to develop a variety of methods to study his subjects, distinguishing the subtle differences between different insect species, recording the changes in color in minerals, and studying the healing properties of plants, all of which are recorded in his rich watercolor paintings.
